The species Holothuria cinerascens is a shallow water species with a wide distribution from Japan to Autralia and from Oman to Western Africa. It is characterized by numberous sturdy tubefeet that the animal uses to attach itself in crevices and cover its bivium with various debris (rocks, pieces of wood, pebbles, etc. The few observed specimens were reddish brown with paler tubefeet tips.

Holothuria cinerascens is widespread in the Into-Pacific Ocean. In Oman it was only found in Dhofar.

Holothuria cinerascens is uncommon, perhaps because of its abiity to camouflage itself between rocks and debris. A single animal was also observed near Qalhat, in a much deeper community (18-20m), with a another few species typically found in the Arabian Sea.
